RPG, or Role Playing Games, have been among the most popular
category of games for years. Before the advent of video games,
they were played on paper (think Dungeons & Dragons). As
computers and consoles became popular, RPGs developed a huge fan
base. In this list, well look at some of the best RPGs ever
made.1. Diablo Diablo, a game by the legendary Blizzard studio
(makers of Warcraft and Starcraft) is easily among the greatest
RPGs ever created. Featuring a wide cast of characters, plenty
of items to find, a huge tree of abilities and spells, and a
very addictive, hack and slash gameplay, Diablo ranks among the
very best of computer games. It was followed by a sequel -
Diablo 2. 2. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Often called the "never ending
game", Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a massive achievement in
game-making. You can play it for hundreds of hours just
exploring various cities, castles, and dungeons. The options at
your disposal are immense: a huge list of characters to pick
from, a wide array of weaponary, and an impressive roster of
spells. The graphics in this RPG are beautiful and will leave
you wide eyed with wonder. 3. World of Warcraft Even if you have never played a game
before, undoubtedly, you heard of World of Warcraft. This RPG
has become a cultural phenomenon, account for over 8 million
active players who log in everyday to be a part of the World of
Warcraft universe. Also called a MMORPG (i.e. Massively
Multiplayer Role Playing Game), it features open-ended gameplay,
tons of interactivity, thousands of quests, and a huge world to
explore. You can make new friends and spend hours upon hours in
this game. Not for those who get addicted easily!4. Fallout 3 The Fallout series has been an illuminating light
in a sea of bad RPGs. The third installment in the series was
released just recently and sold over half a million copies in
the first month alone. Fallout 3 is an award winning game that
is among the most successful RPGs every, with an action oriented
gameplay that sucks you right in. No wonder it has been called
the "Best PC Game", and "Best RPG" by several trade publications.So there you have it: four RPGs that will give you hours of
enjoyment and fun. Be careful though: such games are notoriously
addictive!
