How to Starting EVE Online for the Confused Player

If you're just entered EVE Online and been outside the station
your first reaction is probably to run back inside and hide.
This world is massive, and you're probably not sure where to
begin. This EVE Online starting guide will give you some ideas
for where to go and what to do. It's not a full fledged strategy
guide, but it can help. The first thing to do if you haven't already is run through the
tutorials. Don't worry, you have a bothersome AI in game that
annoys you about it till you do them, so they aren't hard to
spot. After this the next thing this EVE Online starting guide
recommends is you hit the local ore field. Once there find
yourself a nice asteroid to your liking and mine it till your
cargo hold is full. Then go back to the station to reprocess it and sell it.
Continue the process in order to build up credits to upgrade
your ship, buy new parts, and purchase new skills. Learning new
skills can take some time, just like any other RPG. That's one
of the main reasons why mining is so fun. In some cases it may
take several days for a new skill to train, so go to favorite
ore field for a while. When the skill is done you'll be a lot
richer. After you're done with mining, or just bored, the next thing
that the EVE Online starting guide recommends is you upgrade
your ship. You can purchase ships and equipment through the
marketplace in game. Also remember to grab some good weapons for
your frigate, and buy some insurance. Insurance is needed in the
event your ship is destroyed, it will refund the cost of your
ship, and give you a new starting vessel if you don't have one.

After you've done this it's time to head outside your starting
system. You can do this to mine, or complete missions in the
single player campaign. It's not recommended that you jump right
into the PVP combat just yet. There are many veterans out there
in heavy cruisers and battleships that will mince you're frigate
in no time.

The EVE Online starting guide suggests you do some single player
missions to get yourself familiar with the world. Take this time
to locate some good ore in the safer systems, and get some
combat experience against NPC opponents. Once you're confident
in your abilities and have some good equipment it's time to do
what your heart desires. You can go into the real fighting now,
or continue the campaign. The EVE Online starting guide suggests you join a corporation.
These agencies make up the bulk of the good stuff in the game so
to speak. Corporations range from mining, law enforcement,
piracy, and warfare. War between corporations can be a beautiful
and ugly thing at the same time. If it's an espionage type of
war you're going to be very paranoid. If it's a traditional war
then you're going to find yourself in a system with hundreds of
ships fighting all around you at the same time. Regardless it's
fun and that's what you're here for, fun.
